Samsung To Soon Unveil A Humanoid Robot That Can Easily Read Facial Expressions And Gestures

CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2020 is just a week away and is expected to begin on 7 January 2020. CES 2020 would see technology companies ‘ smorgasbord put forth their inventions and projects. Of several companies, one is Samsung, a famous Chinese electronics company that will introduce five groundbreaking programs that are part of its C-Lab Inside program. One of the five ventures involves a humanoid robot known as “pico,” which is intended for single-person homes.

In case you don’t know, C-Lab Inside is an in-house idea incubation program that supports Samsung employees’ innovative ideas. This will be the fifth year of CES attendance. The humanoid robot ‘piBo’ will be shown by Circulus for single-person households and will provide guidance such as simple conversation and weather/search information.

‘piBo’ utilizes interaction technology and is based on emotional facial expressions analysis. It also looks at the discussion material and offers correct responses with words, music, and dance. Users can also add new features and apps to download from their robot application store.

In addition to the ‘piBo,’ Samsung aims to announce an invisible keyboard that uses the selfie camera of a smartphone named’ SelfieType’ together with a smart highlighter called Hyler. There will also be a scalp monitoring system called Becon, a SunnySide lighting unit, and a new sensor.

Inuk Hahn, the vice president, said, “We will actively support C-Lab in creating new products that represent latest market trends and customer demands and showcases outstanding C-Lab’s start-ups and project plans in various global exhibitions.”

Becon, Ultra V, Circulus, Fitt, and Smoothy will also be the other C-Lab technologies that will feature in the CES 2020-the latter is a community chat app with Samsung AR Emoji to reflect real facial expressions and movements on screen.
